"Dave Roy and his dedicated staff teach values based on mutual respect and consideration for others. Dave's values come from his strong faith in God. While he does not 'push' his religious beliefs on others, he does live what he believes and these young people see it and cannot help but be touched by it. What started out as a huge respect for the man because of his highly regarded expertise in the hockey world developed into a huge respect for Dave Roy, the person. One of my sons said to me one day, "1 have never met a man as good and as kind as Dave Roy". Because of the example that he and his staff set, these kids grow both personally and spiritually, to a degree that was quite unexpected. For us, this was the best part - because at the end of the day -hockey is just a game - and the people our children become is really what counts."

"So how is everyone at your end, is Dave Roy back on the ice yet? Mark has become a quiet convert to Christianity due to Dave and takes the bible Dave gave him everywhere. He stunned us just before he left for Canada by holding a very well balanced and thought out disscussion on religion."

"Outside of Gideons life at "hockey school" - Gods hand has really been moving in Gideons life - he is planning on being baptised when he comes home in March.  We have suggested to him that he should share it with Dave - or someone at school and I don't know if he has had an opportunity.  I thought I would mention it because you may be blessed to find out out what has been happening in his spiritual life."

"Would you pass on some encouraging news to Dave in regards to Kyle's spiritual growth. He has had a real time of awakening to the real meaning of Christ dying on the cross. He had heard of this before but never grasped what that means for him personally. He has asked us for a Bible to read ( as he forgot Dave's Christmas gift of a Bible at home in Manitoba). As well we are starting a family bible study on Friday nights and he has been very involved and commented to me that he did not realize there was so much more to know about living the Christian life according to God's word. It is exciting to see him take these steps."
